Several Tiger track athletes have qualified for the state meet after placing at sectionals last weekend in Loganville.
Desman Martin took first place in the triple jump (42 feet, 1 ¼ inches). Ziere Diggs placed second in the 110-meter hurdles (15 seconds). Sterling Burns placed sixth in the discus (133-2). The boys 4-by-400 meter relay team of Jamorris Hill, Terrius Crimiel, Lorenzo Brinson and Diggs placed fourth (3 minutes, 24.20 seconds).
Katara Burks placed sixth in the 400 dash (59.48) and seventh in the long jump (16-8). Dayonna Wynn placed third in the high jump (4-10).
The Lady Tigers 4x400 relay team of Burks, Wynn, Brianna Johnson and Michaela Calvin placed fifth (4:05.63).
The girls state meet starts Thursday in Albany. The boys meet is May 8-10 in Jefferson.
