In the April 23 Courier, different camps and programs offered this summer by the Liberty County Recreation Department were spotlighted. Today, programs highlighted are at First Presbyterian Christian Academy and the Morale Welfare and Recreation Department and Child Youth and School Services at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield.
The Morale Welfare and Recreation Department and Child Youth & School Services at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield already have opened enrollment for their respective summer-camp programs.
For children in kindergarten through fifth grade, the full-day camp is Monday through Friday from 5:30-
6 p.m. There will be a variety of activities suited for the age group. For children in sixth grade and above, camp is from noon-8 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The weekly camps begin at the end of May, when Liberty County schools break for the summer, and runs through the beginning of August, when Fort Stewart schools begin their new school sessions.
Enrollment is under way, and parents can choose to enroll for only the weeks they want their children to attend.
Field trips are included in the camp fees. Hourly children may attend field trips but will need to pay any applicable entrance fees.
According to stewartmwr.com, all eligible children must be registered with CYS Services and parents should call ahead to schedule an appointment. To schedule an appointment, call Fort Stewart CYS at 912-767-2312 or Hunter Army Airfield at 912-315-5425.
The fees are charged using a graduated fee schedule based on total family income and are due the first and 15th of the month.
