The First Presbyterian Christian Academy baseball team dropped a 10-5 decision Monday to Coastal Home School in its final home game of the season.
The Highlanders played in the state playoffs last Friday, but their postseason ended after they lost two of three against Calvary Day. In the first game of the best-of-three series, the Highlanders won, 9-0. Calvary Day then bounced back to win, 7-0 and 13-3.
According to FPCA coach Ryan Harmon, Coastal Home School on Monday took a 4-3 lead in the top of the sixth inning, but the Highlanders took a 5-4 lead during the bottom of the frame. In the seventh inning, however, Costal Home School capitalized on a Highlander error to regain the lead for good.
FPCA senior James Phillips hit a two-run triple in the sixth inning. Darius Tilghman batted 3 for 3. Senior James Moon pitched five innings, taking the loss.
The senior-night game was going to be played earlier in the season, but rain forced the contest to be rescheduled.
