American Legion Post 168 Ladies Auxiliary recently honored students from high schools in Liberty and Long counties and helped pay to continue their education.
The organization presented $500 scholarships to Bradwell Institute graduate Marquise Morgan and Long County High School graduate Kelsey Higgason.
The Auxiliary also is sponsoring two students to attend Girls State at Georgia Southern University from June 8-13 in Statesboro. The Auxiliary pays all fees for the girls to attend the weeklong session and gives each girl $20 in spending money. Evangrlyn Byczkoski is the Liberty County High School representative, while Miriam Madison is BI’s representative.
