Contrary to popular belief, there are some good earthly fathers in the world today.
Those fathers believe in taking care of their children and families. My personal definition of a father’s love or a good father is being a good provider, one who displays love in action and leads by example.
The Bible refers to this in Matthew 7:11: “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father, which is in heaven, give good things to them that ask Him?” God has great things in store for us, just because he loves us.
God’s love was manifested toward us through Jesus Christ. John 3:16-17 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”
The Father’s love is real, genuine and love in action. God gave His only son because he loves and cares for us. His love was manifested in us through Jesus — His death, burial and resurrection. Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates His love toward us, in that, while we were sinners, Christ died for us.” God sacrificed His son, and Jesus sacrificed His life, so that we might live and have right fellowship or relationship with our Father. Romans 5:9 says, “Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.”
Yes, it is true we don’t deserve His love and grace, but He first loved us.  This is shown in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
I am so thankful and grateful for the love, grace and mercy of the Father.
John 4:9-10 says, “In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.  In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be propitiation for our sins.”
Because of His love and Jesus’ shed blood, we have life and have become the righteousness of God. There is nothing we can do to earn God’s love — just accept it and honor His love by living for Him.
Personalize this: I am alive because of the love of the Father. Because of the love of the Father, I am victorious and I have the victory. It is a fact that no one can stop the Father from loving you.
I need you to understand that the Father loves you. You might have had — or still have — a good earthly father, or perhaps you didn’t even know your dad, but remember, no one can love you like the Father does.
On behalf of the Liberty County United Ministerial Alliance, we wish you a happy Father’s Day.
