New social-media features will be incorporated into the Sun Belt Conference’s media day July 22 in New Orleans as the league debuts the “Sun Belt Social Media Suite” to allow fans access and connections to media-day activities.
Using #SunBeltMediaDay across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, fans can submit questions to student-athletes and coaches and receive answers in real time. The morning session will run from
11 a.m.-1 p.m. and the afternoon session from 2-4 p.m.
ESPN3 will air a live show from the floor of Sun Belt Media Day at the Bienville Club Lounge in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The two-hour broadcast will begin at 2 p.m. and feature a selection of student-athlete interviews and coaches.
Georgia Southern coach Willie Fritz, senior offensive tackle Garrett Frye and senior linebacker Edwin Jackson will represent Georgia Southern at the event. Commissioner Karl Benson will deliver a state of the Sun Belt Conference address, followed by media availability for Benson, Coordinator of Officials Steve Shad, College Football Playoff CFO Reid Sigmon and the Sun Belt athletic directors.
The Georgia Southern Radio Network will be on-site for Sun Belt Media Day and broadcast live from 2-4 p.m. with “Voice of the Eagles” Chris Blair and four-year letterwinner Terry Harvin.

Little Eagles camp set
Fritz, GUS and the Eagles will hold a free, one-hour football camp at Paulson Stadium for children ages 6-12 on Saturday, Aug. 2.
Check-in begins at 10 a.m. at Gate 5 of Paulson Stadium with the camp beginning at 11 a.m.
With different stations set up on Glenn Bryant Field, participants will run ladder drills, learn how to pass, kick a field goal, tackle and block on a padded blocking dummy. After the physical activities on the field, Eagles and Fritz will speak to the campers and sign autographs.
This event also will be the first opportunity for parents to sign their children up for membership in the Junior Eagle Club. Information on the benefits of the Junior Eagle Club, including free admission to several athletic events throughout the year, will be available at the check-in desk.
