A complainant notified the sheriff’s office about damage that was done to her vehicle. The complainant believed someone poured a foreign substance into her gas tank in the early hours of March 11 causing $5,500 worth of damage to her engine according to repair estimates. She was advised on warrant procedures.

A complainant advised the sheriff’s office her child’s go-cart was stolen from the front of her residence on March 10. The deputies received a follow up phone call March 15 from the complainant who said she knew who took the go-cart. Deputies contacted the subject and found he did have the go-cart in his possession and was attempting to place it for sale. The subject tried to leave the scene on his bicycle. Deputies found the subject to be intoxicated and a search of his person revealed he was carrying suspected illegal drugs. The subject was charged with possession of marijuana, cocaine and theft.

A deputy stopped a vehicle that was traveling at a high rate of speed (94 mph). The deputy asked for license and insurance and the female driver said the vehicle was a rental from Orlando, Fla. She also said it was rented in the name of a female passenger with her. Deputies collected identification from both parties and a license check revealed the driver had a suspended license. The deputy asked both parties if they would consent to a vehicle search and both agreed. When the deputy checked the vehicle’s trunk he found pants lying on top of a spare tire. Stuffed inside the pant legs were three bags of suspected marijuana that were turned over to MACE agents. Both parties were arrested and taken to Liberty County Jail.

A complainant dropped her dog off at her residence and secured the animal with a chain around 10:30 p.m. When she returned at midnight, the dog had been removed from the chain and was missing. The complainant described the dog as a 5-month-old white pitbull with brindle spots on both eyes and ears. The dog also had black spots on his nose.

Deputies were dispatched to the emergency room of Liberty Regional Medical Center where a complainant reported he accidentally shot himself in the hand. Deputies were told that while walking along Davis Road the man was playing with a chrome handgun when it accidentally discharged and struck him in the palm of his right hand. The complainant was not able to provide any other information about the gun.

A complainant advised a deputy his girlfriend tried to set a bag of clothes on fire inside his vehicle. The girlfriend admitted to pouring gas on the clothes but said she was not going to set them on fire and that she just did not want her boyfriend to leave. The complainant removed his personal items from the girlfriend’s house and said he was leaving Hinesville and vowed to never return.
