The Eleven Black Men of Liberty County took made their annual trip to Summer Waves on July 19.
Since its creation in 1991, the nonprofit organization establishes mentoring connections between volunteer community professionals and young black males, known as transcenders.
Mentorship usually begins during middle school and helps the young men through their high school careers.
In addition to academic support, the young men receive life skills training to help in their transition to adulthood and participate in social and spiritual activities.
Charles Frasier is the group's current president.
