POSTED: August 26, 2008 5:00 a.m.
Southern Business & Development magazine recently named Hinesville/Liberty County "One of the 250 Best Places in the South to Locate Your Company" in their 15th anniversary bonus edition.
Hinesville/Liberty County ranked No. 53 in the top 100 small market category. The threshold for a small market was a population of 250,000 or less.
In the small market category, LaGrange/Troup County was the only community in Georgia that ranked higher than Hinesville/Liberty County. Hinesville/Liberty County ranked higher than other communities like Dublin/Laurens County, Rome/Floyd County, Statesboro/Bulloch County and Albany/Dougherty County in the small market category.
"We are extremely pleased that Hinesville/Liberty County has been named by Southern Business & Development magazine as one of the top 100 small markets in the South to locate a company," said Ronald E. Tolley, Liberty County Development Authority CEO. "Over the past 15 years, we have been very fortunate to recruit some high caliber companies to Liberty County that have continued to expand."
Southern Business & Development magazine ranked the top 100 major markets, top 50 mid-markets and top 100 small markets.  Approximately 3,000 communities in the South were considered. The rankings were based on projects since 1992 in the South with 200 or more announced jobs and/or $30 million in capital investment.
