ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Judy Carter of Hinesville recently celebrated 10 years as a Creative Memories consultant as well as a significant birthday while visiting her home state of Minnesota and attending the 2008 Creative Memories National Convention, "Showcase," in Minneapolis.
Creative Memories specializes in photo-safe albums, scrapbooking materials, digital photo books, organization software, and custom framing products.
"Every part of this years' experience was incredibly special and all about making and recording memories," Carter said. "Oddly, the recent death of one of my best friends and customers — my mother-in-law — gave the journey to Minnesota cause to reflect on why I do what I do and why I believe it to be so important."
Family and friends gathered around my mother-in-law's albums, treasuring the memories that had been captured throughout her and her husband's entire lives. Carter said since becoming a consultant in 1998, their friendship deepened as Edna worked to complete as many as 10 Creative Memories albums.
"I believe nearly every picture in her home was in an album with a story or labeled with significant data," Carter said. "What a legacy to leave her children, grandchildren and her three great-grandsons and the two expected great-granddaughters.
"Sharing the excitement with thousands of 'sister consultants' in the roll-out of 100 new products, having them sing 'Happy Birthday' to me and being celebrated for ten years as a consultant were certainly highlights."
From Aug. 1-4, consultants were introduced to the latest products in both traditional and digital album making, photo organization and various methods for framed wall displays. Carter said everything Creative Memories does is first rate, not just the product line but also in teaching new techniques for memory celebration and celebrating consultant successes.
Also during Showcase, Creative Memories announced it will be supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation as the consultants' 2009 charity of choice.
"Creative Memories has always been dedicated to charitable giving, and we are thrilled that our sales field selected the Make-A-Wish Foundation to be our new partner," said Asha Morgan Moran, company president. "Our company is all about capturing and savoring memories. By creating both the opportunity for wishes to be granted, Creative Memories can have a real impact on the families of children with life-threatening medical conditions served by Make-A-Wish Foundation."
"We are delighted to be associated with Creative Memories and its enthusiastic network of more than 70,000 independent consultants," said David Williams, Make-A-Wish Foundation of America president. "A wish granted brings lasting joy to wish kids and their families, and they will be able to relive that joy again and again, thanks to our partnership with Creative Memories."
