Graduates

ATLANTA — Two students from Liberty County earned degrees from Georgia State University last month:
• Darin Townsend of Midway received a bachelor’s degree.
• Jessica Johnson, of Hinesville was awarded an associate’s degree.
More than 4,300 students received certificates and degrees across numerous disciplines of study, including undergraduate- and graduate-level certificates, and degrees at the associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, specialist and doctoral levels.

Troy graduate
Nicole Brannan-Steinbring of Ludowici graduated from Troy University during Term 3 of the 2016-17 academic year.
Term 3 includes students at Troys satellite campuses.t

Georgia College lists
MILLEDGEVILLE — The following students completed courses with exemplary marks and made the dean’s list for spring semester at Georgia College.
• Lisa Ouyang of Hinesville
• Coleman Woolard of Glennville
• Virginia Oliver of Glennville
Making the presidents’ list was:
• Lola Oliver of Glennville
The school also announced that Ouyang graduated in May 2017 with a marketing degree.

Morehouse College
Donnie Pulliam graduate cum laude in May 21 from Morehouse College in Atlanta. The 133rd commencement exercises was on the Century Campus.
In the fall, Pulliam will attend law school. He is a 2013 honor graduate of Liberty County High School. His parents are James and Monica Payno of Midway.

Job Corps
Tyriek Holmes of Midway recently graduated from the Job Corps at its Brunswick Center.
While attending the program, Holmes earned his high school diploma, completed the Clinical Medical Assistance Program and received his certification, according to Roosevelt Harris Jr., business community liaison coordinator for the center. Holmes also received certifications in electronic health records and EKG.
In addition, Holmes earned a $1,000 scholarship from the Brunswick Chapter, The Links, Inc. Holmes will attend Savannah State University in the fall.
“We are very proud of his accomplishments,” Harris said.
