Man hit crossing 84

POSTED: November 18, 2008 5:00 a.m.
An, as yet, unidentified man was hit by a car Friday night as he was crossing Highway 84 in front of the Starlight Lounge.
Hinesville Traffic Accident Investigator Jassen Garrett said the man was taken to Liberty Regional Medical Center. The officer said the accident is under investigation and he was going to the hospital to obtain information about the man and his injuries.
Information from witnesses would indicate the man was trying to cross the highway shortly after 11 p.m. A couple in a Hyundai was driving east. Witnesses say the driver tried to stop and locked the brakes, causing the car to skid. The man, unsure of where to run, accidentally stepped in front of the car and was hit.
The man was able to sit up and walked to the ambulance.
