City's budget process is under way
The Hinesville City Council met with city staff last week and this week for several budget workshops to hammer out, line item by line item, a budget for fiscal year 2012. The council held a budget workshop this morning and also scheduled one for 10 a.m. Wednesday at city hall, Hinesville Chief Financial Officer Kimberly Ryon confirmed.
Council candidate faces qualifying challenges
Five voters filed challenges with the Liberty County Board of Elections in the past two weeks alleging Douglas Burgess Jr. is not qualified to run for Hinesville City Council. These voters question Burgess' residency as a Hinesville city resident, claiming he may not have lived in the city the required 12 months before Nov. 8, the date of the municipal election.
Medics compete to be the best
