Tide students hit Atlanta for Falcons game

Last Sunday, Long County High School sent 85 students to Atlanta to watch the NFL's Atlanta Falcons defeat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13-10 at the Georgia Dome. Those who made the trip included football players, cheerleaders and team managers.

Tide football does well on All-Region Team

Several Long County High School players were recently named to the All-Region 2-AA football team. Wide receiver Ricky Rivera was the lone first-team pick. The senior, a three-year starter, piled up 72 receptions for 1,176 yards and 10 touchdowns this past season. The Blue Tide went 4-6, including 2-6 in the region. Named to the All-Region 2-AA second team were quarterback Jake Durham wingback Justin Boyd and wide receiver Donte Brown. Durham, a junior, was 175-for-315 passing for 2,290 yards and 24 touchdowns. Blue Tide open region play Tuesday

The Long County High School basketball teams will open Region 2-AA play on Tuesday night. The Blue Tide girls (1-3) will visit St. Vincent's in downtown Savannah at 6 p.m., while the boys (2-2) will make the trek to Benedictine in Savannah for a 6:30 p.m. game.

Well folks I will admit it, this week I cheated on my predictions in the American Football Conference (AFC) - not by much, but a little. I will tell you the change I made involved a team with a quarterback whose initials are T and B, but other than that, they're all the same as they were prior to week one in the NFL.
