Reports indicate Jays’ McGowan out for season

According to a report from the Toronto Blue Jays' Web site, Long County's Dustin McGowan could be held out for all of the 2009 season as a result of a lingering shoulder problem.

Tide ends 5-game losing streak

Long County's baseball team lost nine of its last 10 games and dropped five in a row before last Friday's game against Tattnall County. However, despite the dismal record, the Blue Tide beat Reidsville's Battle Creek Warriors, coming back from a 5-0 deficit to win 12-9.
