Blue Tide lose to Charlton County

The Long County High School football team surprised everyone Friday when they took a 7-0 lead against No. 5 Charlton County High School. Despite pulling ahead early and keeping the game close, the Indians went on to beat the Blue Tide 74-28.

Walker teacher receives $1,000 grant

Bonnie Camp, a fourth-grade math and science teacher at Walker Middle School in Ludowici, was among 29 Georgia teachers to receive New Teacher Assistance Grants from Georgia Power. Collie Williams, Georgia Power's area manager in Jesup, presented the award to Camp at the Oct. 5 board of education meeting in Ludowici.

Tide loses 4th straight

The lone touchdown for the Blue Tide came from Miguel Hernandez early in the game, but the Cadets' running ability had the visiting squad up 24-10 by half time.
