May 31: Criminal trespass - A complainant living on Ruben Wells Road in Hinesville said that at 3:45 a.m., she found the rear driver's side window of her car broken along with all of its doors unlocked. The glove box also was open, but she said nothing was stolen from the vehicle.

Domestic terror suspect to get new attorney

Alleged FEAR (Forever Enduring Always Ready) militia member and co-conspirator Heather Salmon went before Superior Court Judge Robert L. Russell III on Thursday at the Long County Courthouse in Ludowici. Salmon was in court to begin proceedings regarding her assignment of a new defense attorney in the December 2011 murder case of Tiffany York, 17, and Michael Roark, 19.

The force of a wreck on E.B. Cooper Highway Thursday night seemed to fold a pickup in half. No one was injured, even though the crash also brought down a power pole and a couple other vehicles got entangled in the wires.

Wreck at Airport and 196 tying up traffic

Update: A wreck at the corner of Airport Road and Highway 196 West in Hinesville tied up traffic for roughly two hours Wednesday. According to GSP Trooper Lyle Thurmond the wreck happened at 3 p.m. Three vehicles were involved and authorities had to re-route traffic around the area. Traffic headed westbound on 196 toward Gum Branch was closed for about two hours.
