FORSYTH - Patrol Officer Richard W. Boucher of the Hinesville Police Department recently completed a course in advanced traffic law conducted by the Georgia Police Academy Division of the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth. This course is required by the Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training Council for Advanced Certification.

An Aug. 13 shooting in Long County still is under investigation, but victim is in stable condition.
John Orr of South Lyon, Mich., was shot Friday night at the Griffin Ridge Wildlife Management Area in Long County on Highway 84, Georgia Bureau of Investigation Agent Mike McDaniel said.

Three five-ton air conditioning units apparently were stolen recently from a store in Long County and one of the building owners is willing to pay for information about the heist.
A Waycross man recently was charged with illegally trafficking morphine after Ludowici police found drugs inside the suspect's car during a traffic stop, said Ludowici Police Department Investigator Sal Genualdi.
The Hinesville Police Department will have Citizens' Academy classes from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evenings beginning Aug. 31.
