April 20: Police are investigating the report that a lawn care company was responsible for the damage done to a car window. The owner of the car claims a rock was thrown from a mower, damaging the window. The owner of the lawn care company said there were only two vehicles in the parking lot when they started working on the lawn and the damaged vehicle was not one of them. The company owner also said his mower has a guard to prevent flying rocks.

An off-duty Liberty County deputy sheriff, who was working security at a Walthourville night club, shot and killed a suspect early Sunday after repeatedly ordering him to drop his gun, according to an incident report.

April 20: Hinesville police were dispatched to a residence where a car was reportedly on fire. The officers found the rear of the car was ablaze. The fire department arrived and extinguished the fire. A brief investigation revealed the cause of the fire was suspicious. The case was turned over to arson investigators.

New all-way stop set for 119

A new all-way stop condition will be activated on Highway 119 on Wednesday, weather permitting, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation. The stop will be at Barrington Ferry Road in Riceboro. Currently, Highway 119 carries free-flow traffic, with Barrington Ferry Road being a stop condition. The new modifications to the intersection will include all-way stop signage and overhead flashing red beacons.

April 11: A family was not hurt when their vehicle went up in flames on I-95. The driver reported she was driving to Florida when she started to smell smoke coming from her van. She pulled over and saw smoke coming from the engine and immediately got her family out. She said the van went up in flames minutes later.

April 3: Patrol officers heard what sounded like a single gunshot in the vicinity of The Dugout at 818 E.G. Miles Parkway. They responded to the scene and saw several hundred people moving in all directions from the building. They asked several people where the shooter was and if anyone was injured, and got several negative responses. They made their way to the front door, where a male victim was lying on the floor.

April 3: A Garden Circle woman reported that when she took her car to be washed, an employee used a metal object to strike the top of the rear passenger quarter panel and caused damage. She claimed the man was angry with her, and that is why he struck the car. The responding officer observed damage in the described area, but that the dents appeared to be rusted.
