Apparent Humvee joy ride lands reservist in jail

Army reservist Sean Aaron Johnson, 23, was arrested at 10:25 a.m. Monday and charged with grand theft (of a motor vehicle valued greater than $100,000) by the Volusia County Sheriff's Office in Florida. Johnson had allegedly stolen a Humvee from Fort Stewart and driven it across state lines. For more on the story, pick up a copy of Friday's Coastal Courier.

Sting nets 11 alleged narcotics suspects

A three-month, undercover investigation by the Multi Agency Crack Enforcement Drug Task Force, the Hinesville Police K-9 Unit and the Chatham County Sheriff's Department led to the arrest of 11 suspected drug dealers in December.

Long fire department moves to part-time

According to members of the Ludowici/Long County Fire Department, the toughest part of their jobs is getting equipment to a fire in a timely manner. After a house fire is reported, firefighters say they must head to the fire station, pick up the fire truck and equipment and drive to the fire, by which time, the structure is usually fully engulfed.
