Former Flash Foods assistant manager Curtis Shryer, 25, of Ludowici bears a sign of conviction Wednesday while walking in front of the business. Curtis reportedly chose carrying the sign for 16 non-consecutive hours in lieu of paying a $250 fine after he was found guilty of shoplifting $10 worth of items from the store. Municipal Court Judge Larry Fowler Sr. presided over the case.

July 5: Burglary, forced entry, residence, second degree - As an officer was on foot patrol, he noticed the door open of a residence in Country Side Mobile Home Park. The officer entered, and there was no one there. Later, the resident showed up. He said he saw his front door open, and because he was new to the country, he did not know to call 911, so he left the residence. Nothing was missing from the residence, but two sprayer machines were missing from the utility trailer, which total $4,000.
