Three Long County residents recently were arrested and charged with manufacturing an illegal drug, according to Long County Sheriff's Office Lt. Tom Sollosi. Justin Kidwell, Pamela K. Boguszewski and Bobby E. Hall are in custody.

Neighborhood row results in charges

A grand jury on Nov. 16, 2012, found evidence that there was enough probable cause to proceed with multiple assault charges against two Liberty County men, according to an indictment filed with the Clerk of Superior Court. Atlantic Judicial Circuit of Georgia District Attorney Tom Durden said one of men since has agreed to testify against the other when the case goes to trial later this summer.

Delays possible on Island Highway

Firth Rixson Forgings is bringing in large press parts through Half Moon Marina in Liberty County to help accommodate the expansion of its manufacturing facility in Tradeport East. From April 5-23, delays may be experienced on Islands Highway. Sunbury Road may be used as an alternate route.

Sheriff's blotter for April 3

March 9: Matter of record - Neighbors concerned about the safety of a group of siblings living off Perry Drive reported that some of the younger children were playing outdoors unsupervised. The concern stemmed from the fact that there are several large bodies of water near the home where the youngest of the kids, two 3-year old twins, possibly could drown. Deputies spoke with the children's parents about the dangers of the surrounding lakes.
