A Midway man found dead Thursday next to his ATV on the Isle of Wight has been identified. The victim was identified as Steven Atwood, 27, of Midway, according to the Georgia State Patrol. May 1: Burglary - A resident in the 700 block of Hearn Road reported that a laptop was taken sometime between Monday, April 29 and Wednesday, May 1, and that the back door has signs of forced entry. No other items were reportedly missing, and the residents waited to report the missing item in case they had only misplaced it. The responding officer reported signs of forced entry, and the address reportedly was also burglarized with forced entry in 2011.
A Hinesville woman who used a brownie as a weapon Saturday night to deface the Liberty County Justice Center now is behind bars. Khadiza Latimore was arrested and charged with criminal trespass for smashing a brownie on a glass door at the justice center on South Main Street.
