A Fort Stewart soldier has been reported missing, Hinesville police informed area media outlets Wednesday.
Detective Tom Sollosi said a Long County woman was scammed out of $3,600 through a mail scam. The woman said she received notice from a product evaluation company that she could deposit a check if she evaluated products. The company also asked her to wire two payments totaling $3,600. The woman evaluated the products, deposited the check into her account and wired the $3,600, as instructed, but later was notified the check was no good. The wire payments were not covered and instead came from the woman's own account.
A second arrest in the Nov. 5 stabbing death in Long County appears unlikely, law enforcement officials say.
An amber alert for 12-year-old Julieta Yoselin has been canceled. The girl was found Thursday at a residence in metro Atlanta. She was reported to be in good condition. The South Carolina girl went missing from the Clemson area earlier this week.
Jesus Alanda Lozada, 30, is being held in connection to Yoselin's disappearance. He is in custody in the Fulton County Detention Center. Lozada will likely be charged w ith kidnapping once he is extradited to Clemson.
