Sheriff’s office launches new website

Liberty County Sheriff Steve Sikes launched the department's new website Monday, saying it was time to catch up on current technology and offer a more user-friendly reference for folks in the community. The department contracted with a website designer, and LCSO Chief Deputy Keith Moran used his technology skills to develop the site's content.

Four hurt in wreck on Elim Church Road

Four women were injured in a two-vehicle wreck at the intersection of Elim Church and Lee Place roads Saturday night, according to Long County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Shane Middleton. All four victims were transported to local hospitals.

Midway Motel damaged by blaze

A well-known Midway business was damaged early Tuesday morning. The Midway Motel, which has been in operation for more than 30 years in the 200 block of North Coastal Highway, was damaged by a fire that gutted the living and operating section of the motel, Midway Fire and Rescue Chief Terrell Chipp said. No one was hurt.
