Lake George FD to mark prevention week

The Lake George Fire Department will host an event to coincide with Fire Prevention Month from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Lake George Fire Station. There will be a Life Star helicopter, Smokey the Bear, EMS, state and county police officers, the Fort Stewart fire dog, the Jesup roll-over machine and much more. Lake George will be accepting applications for new firefighters and people will have the opportunity to meet the new fire officers. In Wednesday's edition of the Coastal Courier, it was erroneously reported in a MACE drug task force story that 402 illegally obtained Darvocets where found inside Rebecca Flood's public housing residence. The drugs were confiscated from another location and not her current residence in the 400 block of Gassaway Street, Hinesville. The Courier regrets the error.
