Dec. 1: Suspending driver's license, speeding - A 28-year-old Jacksonville man was stopped by an LCSO deputy at 1:17 a.m. for driving 95 mph in a 55 mph zone. A check of the man's Florida driver's license revealed it was suspended. He was arrested and charged with speeding and driving on a suspended license. His vehicle was towed.

Dec. 1: Burglary – forced entry - A Stewart Way Apartments resident called police and reported his unit had been burglarized. The man's TV and his wife's wallet and cellphone were missing. The woman said her phone was equipped with tracking software, and the phone was tracked to the intersection of West Oglethorpe Highway and Veterans Parkway. Police went to the location, found the woman's phone and returned it to her. The victims were given a case number and briefed on further procedures.

A fire that broke out late Thursday night destroyed a Riceboro woman's home. The blaze started shortly before midnight at 36 Briar Bay Road. The 62-year-old resident, who has not been identified, lived alone and escaped from the residence unharmed. According to family members, the woman lived in the home for 50 years. The Red Cross was called into assist.
Nov. 30: Theft of lost or mislaid property - A woman filed a complaint with the police department about her wallet, which she said she lost at the movie theater. The woman said she'd removed money from her wallet while in the theater, and then slid it back into the side pocket of her bag. She later found the wallet was not in the side pocket. The woman's daughter returned to the theater to look for the wallet, but could not find it. The woman was given a case number and briefed on further procedures.
Police in Richmond Hill are investigating the cause of death of a 23-year-old who was found dead last week in the parking lot of Steamer's Restaurant, but two arrest warrants have been issued in relation to the case.

Facing more than 46 charges - including five for murder - Terrence Gabriel Jones was denied bond Monday morning in Liberty County Superior Court. Jones was arrested in October after Liberty County Sheriff Steve Sikes and Hinesville Police Chief George Stagmeier formed a joint task force to gather information in the July shooting death of youth basketball mentor and coach Ernie Walthour.
