Teacher resigns after posititve drug test

An eighth-grade teacher at Lewis Frasier Middle School resigned Monday morning after she was allegedly found with a residual quantity of suspected marijuana at school on May 12 and a urine test indicated a positive result for the drug a few days later.

Cyclist in high-speed chase said to be on hold

DARIEN - McIntosh County Sheriff Steve Jessup says four of his deputies have been suspended after totaling their patrol cars chasing a motorcycle on Interstate 95, likely violating department procedure.

Jessup Monday said the four, who were not identified, were suspended with pay.
