SAVANNAH -- Savannah-Chatham Metro Police are no longer listing Charlana McKinsie as a missing person.

Metro Police announced in a news release at 3:40 Thursday that it is closing its investigation into the whereabouts of the Fort Stewart soldier who was reported missing after she did not pick her daughter up after school Monday afternoon.

Missing soldier works on Fort Stewart

SAVANNAH (AP) - Savannah-Chatham County police were searching Wednesday for an Army soldier who was reported missing after she failed to pick up her teenage daughter from school.

Sgt. Charlana McKenzie, 32, was last seen by her 14-year-old daughter Sunday night, police spokeswoman Judy Pal said. The daughter told police she normally goes to school after McKenzie heads to work at nearby Fort Stewart, but her mother picks her up every afternoon, which she failed to do Monday.

Suspects sought in Long Co. assault

Two people are wanted in connection with a case involving a kidnapping, a vehicle hijacking, an armed robbery and aggravated assault. It was reported in Long County on July 2.
