ATLANTA (AP) - The head of a panel weighing an overhaul of Georgia's tax code said Wednesday the group will likely recommend lowering the state's personal and corporate income tax rates and instead taxing more goods and services.

ATLANTA - The Georgia Department of Labor reported Wednesday that the preliminary unadjusted unemployment rate in the metro Hinesville area increased to 8.4 percent in November, up four-tenths of a percentage point from 8.0 percent in October. Meanwhile, the number of unemployed workers in the area increased to 2,779, up 181 from 2,598. The jobless rate in the metro Hinesville area in November 2009 was 7.5 percent.
