AAU basketball team joins chamber

The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce welcomed a new member, the Liberty County Blazers, with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony. Head coach Cedric Robertson is a native of Liberty County and a graduate of Liberty County High School. Liberty County Blazers is one of the county's new AAU basketball teams. The team was created in May 2009 and promotes physical fitness and sportsmanship while helping youths understand the fundamentals of basketball. The team is open to children who live in Liberty County.

LaQuinta opens Flemington motel

FLEMINGTON - The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of a hotel in Flemington. La Quinta Inn & Suites is the new three-story, 80-room, 30-suite hotel at 1740 E. Oglethorpe Highway. It officially has opened and is minutes from Hinesville/Fort Stewart city limits.
