Southeast Auto marks five years

The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce celebrated Southeast Auto Services' fifth anniversary on Sept. 1. Owners Andrew and Charlene Parlett and their children, Rachel and Ryan, welcomed chamber members, customers and friends for a ceremony, food and door prizes. ATLANTA - The Georgia Department of Labor reported this week that the state's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate declined slightly to 9.9 percent in July, down one-tenth of a percentage point from a revised 10 percent in June. This is the 34th consecutive month Georgia has exceeded the national unemployment rate, which is 9.5 percent.

Port study: Diesel additive adds fuel efficiency

SAVANNAH - The Georgia Ports Authority's Executive Director Curtis J. Foltz announced last week that the GPA's diesel additive study yielded a five-percent reduction in fuel consumption, as well as decreased emissions.
