Savannah Technical College will host two information sessions at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Liberty Campus for anyone interested in becoming a commercial truck driver. The campus is at 100 Technology Drive in Hinesville.
AT&T Georgia announced earlier this month that Kaylyn Padgett has been appointed as regional director for Southeast Georgia's external affairs. The Coastal GA Area Community Action Authority, Inc. will assist eligible households with heating bills starting Monday, Nov. 1. Residents who are homebound or elderly - age 65 or older - will receive first priority. Also individuals who have life-threatening medical conditions and have had their electricity disconnected may apply. All other eligible families may apply starting Dec. 1. Payments will be made directly to the home energy supplier.
SAVANNAH - Through the Georgia Fresh Start program, United Way of the Coastal Empire partnered with the Salvation Army to provide more than $300,000 in financial assistance to more than 900 people in Liberty, Bryan and Chatham counties. This one-time financial crisis assistance, up to $3,000 per household, was distributed to low-income families facing critical situations due to a loss of income or unfortunate economic circumstances.
Bealls Outlet will relocate and open an expanded store Friday, Nov. 12 in Hinesville's Crossroads Shopping Center. The new 28,398-square-foot store replaces a 22,204-square-foot store in the Hinesville Square Shopping Center. The new store is at 517 W. Oglethorpe Highway - Goody's former location.
