Second-place finish for Scott’s 13U

Scott's All-Star AAU Basketball League teams competed in the league's first playoff series July 9 at the YMCA in Hinesville. The 13U All-Stars placed second. The 13U Savannah Cobras earned the first-place trophy.

Pettis setting a good example for local kids

I first met Arena Football League star Will Pettis in 2007, when the then-Dallas Desperados were in Atlanta to take on the Georgia Force. I heard that Pettis was a former Bradwell Institute football player and knew of his stellar career in the AFL.

McGowan back on mound in Class A

Long County's Dustin McGowan finally made it back to the pitcher's mound. Getting his first start since 2008, Mcgowan started July 2 for the Class A Dunedin Blue Jays against the Daytona Cubs in Dunedin, Fla..
