First Presbyterian Christian Academy's baseball team notched its second consecutive win Thursday with a 14-4 victory over Long County's Faith Baptist Christian Academy in the bottom of the sixth inning. The game took place at the Highlanders' current home field, Joseph Miller Park.

Richmond Hill High School's baseball team solidified its Region 2A-AAAA No. 1 slot Friday by shutting out the Liberty County Panthers, 14-0, in five innings on LCHS' turf.

BC Cadets beat Tigers, 18-1

The Benedictine Cadets have taken over the No. 1 spot in Region 3-AAAAA. The BC team downed the BI boys, 18-1, in five innings Friday at the Tigers' field. According to ga.prepcountry.com, the Cadets edged up to the top spot when former No. 1 seed Camden County was handed a 4-2 loss by Jenkins High School Friday afternoon. The Tiger boys still are in the running, currently ranked fourth in the region.

Last Friday's Savannah State University High School Invitational drew several local track teams, including those from Liberty County High School and Bradwell Institute's Lady Tigers and JV boys' teams. The local squads tested their skills against 12 other high schools from around the Lowcountry and Coastal Empire areas.

Liberty County High School on Friday had been looking to avenge last week's baseball loss to Bradwell Institute, but it didn't happen. Instead, the Tigers team claimed a 10-0 shutout win at home over the Panthers. The game ended in the sixth inning.

FPCA soccer boys beat Alleluia

It's no wonder college scouts have been checking out the First Presbyterian Christian Academy boys soccer team and signing players. The squad finished as state runner up last season and is poised to make another state run this year. On Friday afternoon, they helped their chances by beating Alleluia Community School, 5-2, at St. James Field. Highlander Clark Sukaratana signed to Point University on Friday morning and was the first Highlander to score a goal that afternoon. That point was followed by back-to-back goals from midfielder Stanford Graham. Last week, Graham signed a scholarship to play at Middle Georgia ...
