Tide split final regular-season games

Long County High School's basketball teams played the final games of the regular season Friday in Darien, where the boys finished up with a win and the Lady Tide lost. The boys' squad defeated McIntosh County Academy, 63-58, in overtime. The girls lost, 45-28, to the Lady Buccaneers.

High school soccer season kicks off

High school soccer got a quick kick-start in a scrimmage between Liberty County High School and Bradwell Institute on Tuesday afternoon at Lewis Frasier Middle School's Freedom Field.

The Long County boys' basketball team continued its winning ways Tuesday by defeating Tattnall County, 75-60, in Ludowici. The Lady Tide struggled against Tattnall and lost, 49-23.

MMS finishes season with perfect mark

The Midway Middle School boys' basketball team finished its season with a 9-0 record. Highlights included winning the Turkey Shoot Championship in Jesup and being the current Liberty County middle school champions. Team members are, in uniform from left: Richard LeCounte, Tyreon Freeman, Tracey White, Martial Washington, Jacari' Roberts, Savon Cutler, Rayquan Heard, Lawrence Smith, Samuel Roberts, Phillip Neal, Christian White, Tyric Reece and Jaalon Frazier. The team was coached by Carol Broadnax, Eddie White and Warren Hines. Team managers are Kadadren Stevens and Antonio Golden.

Boys’ team enters region with No. 2 seed

The First Presbyterian Christian Academy boys' basketball team beat Frederica Academy, 53-49, on Friday at the St. James Sports Center, which put the Highlanders in a three-way tie for first place in the Georgia Independent School Association's Region 2-AA.
