Panthers split games as weather affects schedules

Rain forced Liberty County High School's baseball game against Tattnall County to be moved from Thursday night to Saturday afternoon. However, the Warriors made that day soggy in a different way for the Panthers, beating Liberty, 12-3, at home.

FPCA finish as state runners-up

It was a gut-wrenching loss. A three point difference is all it took in drowning First Presbyterian Christian Academy's chase for a state title. The Highlanders boys shed many tears losing 60-57 to Furtah Prep in Staurday's Class AA championship game at Mercer University. Former Bradwell Institute track star Quintunya Chapman is one of the 10 University of Georgia athletes who have qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on March 14-15 in Albuquerque, N.M., according to an announcement last week by the NCAA. Chapman, a junior at UGA, is ranked No. 16 in the nation and No. 8 in the Southeastern Conference in the pentathlon.
