Long girls drop pair of region softball games

The Long County High School softball team dropped a pair of Region 2-AA softball contests this week to fall to 5-15 overall and 0-6 in the region.

BI, Long, Liberty suffer losses

Bradwell and Johnson High were battling it out on Olvey Field and had the game tied at 14 going into halftime. But the Atom smashers controlled the clock for most of the second half and their running game broke open in the third. The Tigers managed to put points on the board but the Atom smashers answered taking a 21-20 lead. Last year, the Long County High School baseball team finished the season with a 14-11 overall record and a 9-9 mark in Region 2-AA Region. But even though the team showed promise, doing better than it had in several years, it still missed making the playoffs by one game.
