Last weekend Fort Stewart's Youth Challenge Academy's basketball team vowed to defend its championship title against Fort Gordon in Augusta. Keeping their word, the boys rallied after a sluggish start to win 69-64 in overtime.

Panther girls first at track meet

The Liberty Panthers girls' track team scored a total of 156 and 164 points in 15 events to finish in first place, and the boys' team scored 131 and 169 to place second at the squads' first two track meets Feb. 24 and March 3 in Hinesville.

Lady Tigers fall in Sweet Sixteen

Twenty nine perfect wins and one heartbreaking loss ended the Bradwell Lady Tigers' basketball season Tuesday night. The girls hosted McEachern High School for the second round of the state playoffs but lost 50-25 to the Lady Indians whose mere height dominated the Hinesville girls.
