FPCA finish as state runners-up

It was a gut-wrenching loss. A three point difference is all it took in drowning First Presbyterian Christian Academy's chase for a state title. The Highlanders boys shed many tears losing 60-57 to Furtah Prep in Staurday's Class AA championship game at Mercer University. But first year head coach Shane Smith said the boys left it all out on the court and have much to be proud of this season. Read the full story in Wednesday's Coastal Courier.

Former Bradwell Institute track star Quintunya Chapman is one of the 10 University of Georgia athletes who have qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on March 14-15 in Albuquerque, N.M., according to an announcement last week by the NCAA. Chapman, a junior at UGA, is ranked No. 16 in the nation and No. 8 in the Southeastern Conference in the pentathlon. All*Stars hold annual retreat

Scotts All*Stars held their annual retreat Feb. 21-23. The retreat provides an opportunity for all players in the program to learn about team requirements while participating in team-building activities. Scott's All*Stars players learned how to tie a necktie and heard about the mission and vision of the program. They also attended a college fair (MegaGenesis) and church at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist. There were 25 boys in grades six through nine.
