Former LCHS Panther topping rushing charts

Former Liberty County High School football player Shadrach Thornton had to sit out the first game of the season for the North Carolina State Wolfpack due to off-the-field legal trouble. Since then, however, Thornton has picked up where he left off last season and currently leads the Wolfpack team in rushing yards with 606 yards on 127 carries.

Coaching legend from Ludowici retiring

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Long-time Auburn University at Montgomery men's basketball head coach Larry Chapman of Ludowici recently announced that he will retire at the conclusion of the 2013-14 season. As a player at Ludowici High School, he was a two-time all-state selection and twice led his team to the state championship tournament.

McRae put on Naismith watch list

According to utsports.com, former Liberty County High School standout and current Tennessee star Jordan McRae was placed on the 50-man watch list for the 2013-14 Naismith Trophy. McRae made the list along with Volunteer teammate Jarnell Stokes. The list was unveiled Thursday by the Atlanta Tipoff Club.
