Tigers hold off Jenkins at home in Hinesville

With the baseball game tied 5-5 at the bottom of the seventh inning, Bradwell Institute baseball player Sage Sammons dug deep and earned his first career walk-off win as the Tigers beat Jenkins, 6-5, Friday night. It also was the Tigers' first Region 3-AAAAA win of the season.

FPCA falls in baseball opener

Rain forced the cancellation of the First Presbyterian Christian Academy baseball team's first four games over a two-week period, setting up the Highlanders to open the season with a region game against Trinity Christian, the reigning Region 2-AA champs.

Liberty riders dominate at spring show

The 2014 American Saddlebred horse-show season kicked off March 1 in Brunswick at the second annual Golden Isles Riding Academy Spring Charity Horse Show. Liberty County riders representing Bluff Creek Stables on Colonels Island, Dixie Stables in Allenhurst and Gravel Hill Farms in Hinesville made their presence known at the season's inaugural show, bringing home blue ribbons in 24 out of 37 classes and placing in the top five in 31 classes.
