First Coast Tae Kwon Do took home 17 gold, 12 silver and six bronze medals for the overall lead in the 2011 Liberty Tae Kwon Do Championship on Saturday.

It's been 12 years since Bradwell Institute's last Region 3-AAAAA cross country championship, but the drought is over. Wednesday morning the Tigers competed in the region championship at Savannah Country Day and had a stellar showing. Not only did the boys win by a large margin but they had four members named to the All-Region team and three school records were broken. According to BI coach Brian Williams, eight of the 14 kids competing ran personal best times.

McCork won the signed Tom Brady jersey and Kindley won the jersey of former BI Tiger Gary Guyton. Team Brandon is raising funds to support Brandon Hellgren, son of Bradwell Tigers baseball coach Rhett Hellgren, in his fight against leukemia. McCork and Kindley are pictured with Andrew Hellgren, Brandon Hellgren, coach Rhett Hellgren and Bradwell Principal Scott Carrier. The school and football boosters sold 308 tickets, raising $3,080.
Bradwell's defense held strong but Groves managed to score on a four yard run for the lone touchdown in Friday's game at Olvey Field. Tonight was the final game for the Tigers who end the regular season with a bye week next Friday.
