Schooled: Alumni outscore students

The alumni took a 3-1 lead in the second inning and scored seven in the fifth to win 9-1. Former players Eric Wells, Zach Hawkins, Joshua Rivers, Josh Drigger, Steven Dill, Josh Magaw,DeAnte Day, Eran Hodge and Jeff Polk, and alumni Hill, Ricky Glisson and James Rogers played for the winning team. Rogers was walked by his son Mitch Rogers, a current BI player.

FPCA on another state run

It's a team current head coach Ernie Walthour helped develop, and now the First Presbyterian Christian Academy Highlanders are paying Walthour back. First the boys won the Georgia Independent School Association Region 2-AA championship. Now the team will try to bring the coach the Highlanders' fourth state title.

Highlanders take region crown

First Presbyterian Christian Academy defeated Frederica Academy, 62-57, in overtime on Thursday. On Friday, FPCA beat Curtis Baptist, 59-52, to win the Georgia Independent School Association Region 2-AA title. The Highlanders, 13-10 overall and 8-2 in conference play, now will make a bid for a fourth state title. Read more in an upcoming edition of the Coastal Courier.
