2011 in the rearview mirror

As we prepare to bid adieu to 2011, we'll take a look back at some of the more memorable sports moments of year, starting with the Bradwell Tigers' baseball team. In 2011, the Tigers had what coach Rhett Hellgren called their best season ever, finishing 16-4 overall and 14-4 in Region 3-AAAAA. The boys made it to the first round of the state playoffs. The coach said the best experience he had was the 12-2 win in six innings against Jenkins High.

Storm boys’ team competes in Atlanta

The Low Country Storm boys' basketball team competed in its first tournament of the year last week in the Battle of the Creek in Atlanta. The Storm fell in the second round of the tournament. The members of the team who participated are Andre Burnnet, Alex Sanchez, Holden Riddle, Khy Collins, Christian Bass, Deshaun Coleman, Cody Cox, Jayshawn Early, Trevon Smith and Quanilis Bacon.

Low Country Storm win tournament in Orlando

The Low Country Storm girls traveling basketball team recently won its first tournament of the year. The girls brought home championship medals in the Ladies First Classic Basketball Tournament held March 28-30 in Orlando. Team members are Patra London, Tierra Ramsey, Anazha Kincaid, Mya Howard, KeShawdra Cooper, Malaka Elix, Elexxus Wrighton, Kiara Edwards, Jeurnae Young, Alyssa McDuffie, Raina Richardson and Brianna Lord.
