As a true-freshman running back for the North Carolina State University Wolfpack, there was a chance coach Tom O'Brien would redshirt Thornton and sit him out during his first year, but that all changed Saturday.

Three touchdowns in less than six minutes, a safety and two back-to-back turnovers by the visiting team helped clear the path for the Liberty County Panthers Friday night at Donell Woods Stadium. When time expired the Cross Creek Razorbacks were stunned by the big Cats 42-7.
