Liberty Co. rec department volunteer coaches recognized

Pictured are Liberty County Recreation Department volunteer coaches who were head coaches for three or more teams in 2013. From left, Marty Martin, Melissa Moore, Tammy Fisher, Dana Lee, Tacarra Hayes, Albert Hawkins, Travis Mobley and Ken Bell. Not pictured: Sheldon Whiteman, Ginefur Peppers and Carlos Carreras. These volunteers were presented LCRD coaches' apparel during Tuesday's recreation-board meeting at the Charles Shuman Recreation Center. As a group, these individuals contributed in excess of 2,000 hours of volunteer service to the LCRD in 2013.

Bradwell Tiger boys reign over Terrors

Bradwell Institute boys' basketball team took down the Glynn Academy Red Terrors at home Friday night to start their Region 3-AAAAA games with a 54-40 win. Before the boys' game, the Lady Tigers suffered a loss in their region opener, falling 42-33.
