Tigers, Panthers look to medal at state meet

A dozen young men representing 2-AAAAA Liberty County High School and 3-AAAAA Bradwell Institute will be vying to win titles at the state track meet this weekend at Memorial Stadium in Jefferson. Events begin at noon Thursday and continue until Saturday.

The Suzie Q's is a local organization committed to raising funds for breast-cancer research, cures and mammograms. This year, the Suzie Q's raised $6,212 and were among the top five fundraising teams at the event. The Suzie Q's already are ramping up for next year's race, and they're accepting donations of diapers and baby wipes to help families recently affected by the devastating tornadoes in north Georgia and Alabama ...
