Panthers open hoops season tonight

Hoop season starts tonight for the Liberty Count Panther boys. The team will play in the Savannah Classic Tournament at Windsor Forest High School. Liberty will tip-off at 5:30 p.m. against Groves.

Tide look to win Region 2-AA

Last year, Long County's boys basketball team came up just short of its goal of a Region 2-AA title. After finishing the season with an 18-7 record and defeating McIntosh County in a buzzer-beater to reach the championship, they fell to the Vidalia Indians, 64-53.

Brown scores 10 in UM’s opener

Rion Brown got a start and the first points of the University of Miami's basketball team's regular season home opener. The former Liberty County High School player opened the game with a 3-pointer from the left wing, setting the pace for the Hurricanes' 87-79 win against Stetson on Nov. 9.
