The Long County High School football team lost, 50-14, to Wayne County on Friday in Jesup. The Blue Tide took an early 6-0 lead and were able to drive deep into Wayne County territory in the first half, but twice turned over the ball inside the Yellow Jackets' 20. Bradwell, Liberty win, Long falls

Bradwell Institute beat Beach 22-21 at Memorial Stadium in Savannah on Friday night. Beach had an early lead and was up 21-0 before the Tigers began closing in. A touchdown and a field goal later the Tigers closed the half trailing 21-10. In the second half Tiger quarterback Myrese Cobb hit Quonte Haggray for a 65 yard touchdown pass and the Tigers ran with the momentum for the 22-21 win.

Bradwell shows no mercy

The Lady Tigers traveled to Groves on Tuesday and earned their fifth win in a row, defeating the Rebels, 10-2, in six innings. Bradwell Institute pitcher Karson Rogers got the win, striking out seven batters and giving up four hits.

Blue Tide baseball team holds rec night for players, coaches

The Blue Tide baseball team recently held its annual Recreation Night in Long County. Around 50 players and coaches who are participating in the T-ball, softball and baseball programs came out for the night. Recreation department Director Michelle Rogers said more than 400 children will be playing this year.

Q: John and Chris were playing the fourth hole in their Saturday men's event. John hit his ball from the fairway and was almost sure that he went out of bounds. He announced to Chris that he was hitting a provisional ball. Before hitting his provisional, John replaced his divot and dropped a new ball as near as possible to the spot where he hit his last shot. Did John proceed in accordance with the rules?
