Diamondbacks take second in first tourney

The Southeastern Diamondbacks, a newly formed Liberty County 12U traveling baseball team, played in its first tournament Saturday in Pierce County and took second place for their bracket at the Peach State Diamond Sports Wheel Pitch World Series. The Diamondbacks, who were established in March, practiced twice before the tourney but managed to make a good showing.

Hinesville Gators tryouts rescheduled due to weather

The Hinesville Gators' tryouts scheduled for today have been moved to Thursday at James Brown Park. Tryouts are for their 11-and-under and 12-and-under boys' and girls' academy teams and the 13U, 14U and 16U girls and 17U and 19U boys' select teams.
